Dick Armitage and two silent partners started Service Heat Treating in 1974 to service the small tool, lawn and garden, and marine industries. As with many small companies, Service Heat Treating evolved over the past 27 years and currently has three businesses offering high quality heat treat services to the automotive, construction/agricultural, lawn and garden, small tools, small engines and marine industries.
The company began batch heat treating in 1974 and added brazing in 1978. After a period of slow growth in the 1980s, the company added its first continuous belt in 1990....
