Abstract
Boeing, the world's second largest aerospace company, has recently lost Harry Stonecipher after he admitted having an affair with fellow executive Debra Peabody. Boeing's board moved quickly after being alerted to potentially embarrassing email correspondence between the couple. The Boeing board moved quickly to restore a corporate reputation that has taken a battering in recent years. The task of running the company, in the short term at least, has fallen to the relatively unknown James Bell. Bell has spent 32 years at the company, slowly working his way up the corporate ladder.
