Chronology of the Cold War, 1917-1992. By Lester Brune. Ed. by Richard Dean Burns. New York: Routledge, 2006. 700p. acid free $150 (ISBN 0-415-97339-2).
Chronology of the Cold War, 1917-1992 by Lester Brune contains short entries on key events, biographies, maps, photographs, and bibliographies involving the Cold War era. This reference book is unique in its scope. While most other books on the Cold War cover the period from 1945 to shortly after the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, Brune begins coverage during World War I and ends the book in 1992. The scope is further widened because Chronology provides information about events and decisions that took place in countries other than the United States and the Soviet Union, addressing significant events in Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, and the Middle East.
