Among both information professionals and scientists knowledge management (KM) is considered a highly 'hot' and fruitful topic. A bibliography covering such a field is therefore a gift in itself to both practitioners and library and information science students.
However, in our digital age with fast and easy access worldwide to all kinds of bibliographic sources, the raison d'etre of bibliographical tools has changed fundamentally. To be useful in professional or scientific contexts today, a bibliography should aim beyond mere compilation of records and their alphabetical presentation in rough subject categories. Indeed, an appropriate degree of intellectual and analytical value-adding seems necessary to justify publication of pure bibliographic tools.
