The SoftBook Reader device was designed for use by business people who travel and have had to carry around quantities of printed documents or manuals in the course of doing their work. Recently SoftBook began offering a program for libraries that combines the SoftBook Reader with access to 1,000 e-book titles. These are mainly out of copyright titles that are available at no cost in other formats from many Web sites. Personal Publisher software, available free from the SoftBook Web site, will convert any document from Microsoft Word to SoftBook format.
