Leafing through the catalogue for a recent sale at auction house Phillips I was reminded of the importance of keeping stuff - particularly prints by well-known illustrators/artists that now go for hundreds of pounds that I once gave away to friends because I had no space to keep them (ouch). And then, as if I needed further prompting, John Pasche sold his original artwork for the Rolling Stones logo to the V&A for almost pound 50,000.
