A new partnership could help make your CD ripping chores a little easier. Riptopia, which provides a digital data processing and CD ripping service for large CD collections, has adopted Gracenote's Music ID music information database and music identification technology. The goal is to create a turnkey "industry standard for CD conversion services" that A/V installers, hardware manufacturers and audiophiles can utilize. The companies claim that through the partnership, Riptopia's service will be enhanced by improved metadata associated with each song, artist and album.
Riptopia's Audio Visual Installer Partnership Program, announced at CEDIA EXPO in September, offers wholesale/high volume rates to installers and manufacturers, along with help in uploading a digital library onto a variety of media centers, music servers and mobile digital players.
