Boise developer Bill Clark recently appealed to Capital City Development Corp. for assistance with his downtown project, The Jefferson, which could begin construction this week.
Clark received his building permit for the Jefferson April 17, and the next day spoke to his banker about financing and CCDC Commissioner and City Councilman David Eberle about agency funding.
Eberle told Clark that the conversation about funding the Jefferson was not over yet. But at a recent CCDC Board meeting, other commissioners did not sound positive about granting funds.
"I don't care if the Pope called him and told him he was going to get $300,000," Alan Shealy, another CCDC commissioner and Boise city councilman, said at the agency's March 9 meeting.
