Boise will get its second Kenny Rogers Roasters restaurant next month when franchisee "Skip" Hofferber opens a conversion store in a 3,150-square-foot former Wendy's outlet on State Street, near 36th Street.
Hofferber, operating as Idaho Roasters, also plans KRR restaurants at Karcher Road and Nampa-Caldwell Boulevard in Nampa, and on Broadway Avenue in Boise.
Remodeling of the vacant State Street store began last week, said Hofferber. The building will receive new facia and signage and new equipment, along with cosmetic touches. "We're shooting for January 20th to 25th," he said.
The building went vacant after the Wendy's shop was moved a short distance west on State Street by Smith's Food & Drug, which had intended to build a supermarket on a site it assembled...
