Abstract

This study should contribute to the understanding of actual and past situation of two critically endangered herb species in the Czech Republic--1) Field Gentian (Gentianella campestris subsp. baltica) and 2) Bohemian Gentian (Gentianella praecox subsp. bohemica). In particular it brings the results from monitoring of the abundances at three observed localities (Horni Alberice, Biner at settlement Cerny Dul, Slunecna stran) in the Czech part of the Giant Mountains (Krkonose in Czech) during years 1991-2005. The infuence of certain management (cutting, grazing, removing of dead parts of plants, sewing seeds) to ftness of plant populations in the feld was studied. The seed germination and emergence were experienced too. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
