Mariah Carey's latest hit is "A No No," and in recent years parts of her career have been exactly that. But her "Caution World Tour" that played Stifel Theatre on Saturday night helped change that.
The near sold-out show, a long time coming for fans waiting for Carey since her last area appearance in 2003 at the Fox Theatre, was a fitting and fun return. She has nicely gotten her act back together.
Carey's live presence has been tarnished over the years, falling to punchline levels . But it was great to see how seriously she's taking things now, in line with her well-received new album "Caution," with past antics seemingly gone.
There wasn't even a moment in which Carey's dancers picked her up over their heads, passed her around and carried her across the stage, which had become associated with her being lazy on stage. The diva in her was still present; she's not going anywhere. But Carey came off...
