Health professionals have moved a step closer to sharing the same code of conduct after the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) admitted it would like to imitate the doctors' code.
The NMC is due to update its Code of Professional Conduct in April.
NMC head of performance and ethics Joe Nichols said the council will be looking closely at the proposed code for the General Medical Council (GMC), the doctors' regulatory body. 'The NMC code could be more user-friendly. That is what the GMC is looking at and we are interested in doing something similar.'
