A South Carolina company will try to breathe new life into WNDY-TV Channel 23, the independent station that failed to become a dominant Force under the ownership of the Yulman-George family.
Privately held Spartanburg Communications signed a letter of intent last week to acquire the station, said John Newcomb, WNDY's general manager. He would not disclose the price. Spartanburg owns a TV station and two radio stations in Spartanburg as well as four TV stations in Kansas and TV stations in Panama City, Fla.; Augusta Ga.; Mason City, Iowa; and Florence, S.C.
WNDY will be Spartanburg's 10th TV station.
