Administration and autobiography, scholarship and student writing, play and publication: these are a few of the subjects Lynn Bloom takes up in this collection of 20 of her recent essays. To argue for creativity in composition studies, Bloom writes, is to "engage in a process of intellectual or aesthetic free play, and to translate the results of this play into serious work that retains the freedom and play of its origins" (4). This collection does not prescribe ways for composition scholars to be creative but rather enacts some of the possibilities for creative work in composition.
