Abstract
The Psychological Contract Inventory (PCI) was designed by Denise Rousseau in 1998. It has been one of the most used measurement tolls of the psychological contract (PC) so far, but empirical evidence of its metric qualities is still lacking. This paper aims are testing the content, discriminant and predictive validity of a French version of the PCI. Results show that PCI represents a robust and generalizable measure of the psychological contract content and breach. However new issues appear about the role of employees obligations and that of each dimension on the PC. The author suggests to design and test a short version of the PC in future research.
