TriGeo Network Security Inc., a Coeur d' Alene-based startup, software developer, next month will begin offering a centralized computer network-security software system to small banks and credit unions in a three-state region.
The software, which will be marketed under the name Contego, is designed to integrate and coordinate the operation of network-security hardware and software systems, and to respond automatically to both internal or external system intrusions with user-defined responses and countermeasures.
While the security software has numerous applications, TriGeo President that financial and CEO John Shovic says it is being of computer configured initially for financial institutions because most banks and credit unions use similar network systems and currently are under federal mandate to audit their security measures and procedures for compliance with regulations.
Many smaller banks and financial institutions can't afford to have network security experts on staff, he says, and require outside assistance to perform networksecurity assessments and overhauls.
