Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition with symptoms of muscle pain, fatigue, and sleep problems. The cause of fibromyalgia is unknown and it occurs in about 2% of the population, and more often in women than in men. Although there are no laboratory tests to diagnose fibromyalgia, the American College of Rheumatology developed standards to help physicians diagnose it, which include:
