BOULDER -- After declaring bankruptcy March 9, the area's first computer disk drive maker to be hit by the "Asian flu" was snapped up recently by a San Francisco-based investor group.
H&Q Asia Pacific, a venture fund management company, formed Mobile Storage Technology Inc. after buying the assets of Integral Peripherals Inc., a maker of hard drives for notebook computers. The transaction was completed April 30 for about $5.5 million in assets and another $1.7 million in license revenues over the next year to 18 months, according to James Markus, Integral's bankruptcy lawyer.
Taking less space
Integral's approximately 50 employees were asked to work at Mobile Storage Technology, said Bill Seymour, chief financial officer of H&Q Asia Pacific. The company has compacted physically, however, moving into one floor of its previously two-floor leased operation...
