BOULDER - The man who helped bring the world the famous milk mustache ad campaign has started TM Branding Inc., a branding and consulting firm based in Boulder.
While there may never emerge from TM anything as memorable and lasting as the images of celebrities wearing a stripe of milk across their upper lips, the firm is ready to take its clients to a higher level.
"TM Branding is a high-level strategic marketing firm focusing on branding," said Managing Partner Jeff Tripician, who, as vice president of sales and marketing with the International Dairy Foods Association, orchestrated the ad campaign where celebrities ranging from Britney Spears to Terrell Davis tout the benefits of milk.
"It's not that we are working with big clients, but clients with big problems. And they can't afford to be wrong."
Those clients include NutraSweet, Wildwood Harvest Foods Inc. and Freshies Food Corp. They all are attempting to either broaden their marketing strategy or reposition themselves in the marketplace. And future clients are waiting in the wings, said TM's other managing partner, Steve Michaelson.
"We're trying to go from a regional emphasis to a national one, " said Colin Wells, chief executive officer of Freshies, a Denver-based maker of cocktail mixes. "Our product will merchandise in different segments of the grocery store that they're not normally merchandised in."
