A Burlington company that has been operating in stealth for the past year and a half will announce its launch this week with a specialized distributed systems management software.
Relicore Inc. was founded in November 2000 by Firdaus Bhathena, who had founded Burlington-based Webline. WebLine was bought for $325 million by Cisco in November 1999. Bhathena stayed on for about a year before leaving to start another company.
"WebLine and Relicore have two very different businesses, but it was the problems we encountered at "WebLine that led directly to the formation of Relicore," Bhathena said. "No matter how good we (at "WebLine were as a software vendor, there were inherent issues dealing with distributed applications that prevent their full usage."
Bhathena said that the relatively new arena of distributed applications has led to some discomfort on the corporate level because many applications don't necessarily interact w with others.
