Abstract

One of the most exciting technologies to come along is disinfection by ultraviolet (UV) light. UV disinfection has become extremely attractive to water suppliers because its low-impact, pathogen-killing capacity shows tremendous promise. A primary consideration on the minds of managers in regard to this technology is what it will cost to implement. Cotton and colleagues studied this issue using UV to inactivate Cryptosporidium oocysts.
