In a new proposal toward the privatization of Intelsat, Comsat Corp. CEO Bruce Crockett proposed forming a private Intelsat subsidiary to handle ancillary services such as direct-to-home (DTH) broadcasting.
Speaking at the Washington Space Business Roundtable last week, Crockett termed the proposal a "stopgap measure" toward Intelsat privatization, but called it "politically achievable {and} worth considering."
