Respect opens many doors. Once his Apache parishioners at St. Francis Mission in Whiteriver, Arizona, recognized how deeply he respected them, they invited Father Eddie Fronske, O.F.M., to participate in their sweat lodges and other private celebrations of life's transitions. Like the Apache, Eddie's spirituality is entwined with creation. He has had a remarkable spiritual journey himself.
Born in Flagstaff, Arizona, in 1941, Eddie joined the Santa Barbara Province of the Order of Friars Minor in 1961 and made his final profession five years later. After his ordination in 1967, he worked for several years in Delano, California.
Between 1974 and 1983, Eddie ministered to parishes in Overton and Mesquite, both in Nevada. For the next 15 years he served as pastor in Whiteriver, Arizona. Eddie...
