Abstract

In its broadest sense, intervention is the purposeful interaction of the physical therapist with the patient/client using various methods and techniques to produce changes that are consistent with the examination and reexamination findings, the evaluation, the diagnosis and the prognosis. Physical therapist intervention consists of three major components: coordination, communication and documentation, patient/client-related instruction and procedural interventions.
