John Jay LaValle is back.
The former Brookhaven supervisor who mysteriously disappeared from local politics four years ago, resurfaced this week, being named as the new chairman of the Suffolk County Republican Party.
His role is to try to take back the county from ever-increasing Democratic control.
"We have a lot of work to do" LaValle said from his office in the Republican Party headquarters on Wednesday. "We are starting a little bit behind the 8-ball, we are ready to take it on."
