Silver City House - an office building opposite Harrods, SW3 - is set for an overhaul into one of the most upmarket residential developments in the country. BP's property arm Ropemaker Poperties has received planning consent to redevelop the 35,000 sq ft offices at 60 Brompton Road as an 11floor apartment block. The scheme, designed by John McAslan & Partners, will include 32 apartments, as well as retail and car parking. Ropemaker is expected to sell the building to a residential developer. Ropemaker is believed to have agreed over £2m commuted payment in place of affordable housing. Leases for the offices expire in the summer. DTZ is advising Ropemaker.
