Abstract

Bottom Line: The first clue to what [Zev Berman] and writer Deborah Pryor have in mind comes from Inez's last name: Macbeth. In less skilled hands, the Shakespearean parallels might have been comical, but Berman uses the Bard's devices--predictions by an oracle ([Karen Allen]), mistaken identities--to enrich this dangerously literate Southern Gothic fable.
