Abstract

Bottom Line: Shot in 1983, this bleak drama (which offers its share of black comedy) was one of the first Hungarian films to dramatize the Soviet takeover of that beautiful country. It's clearly heartfelt and crams a wealth of memorable characters and situations into a picturesque hour and a half. The relationship between [Daniel] and [Mariann] is sketched delicately by [Sandor], and subtle acting by [Rudolf] and Szerb enhances their characterizations.
