Abstract

The recognition of processed antigen by the cell-surface receptors of T lymphocytes is central to the normal immune response. The causes of autoimmune disfunction are multifactoral. An editorial discusses the relationship between the endocrine and immune systems. Recent research is contributing to the understanding of the disorder.
