TORONTO--Construction employment in Canada finally reversed an 18-month downward trend last month as the number of jobs was up nearly four per cent on a year-over-year basis.
Seasonally adjusted data from Statistics Canada showed there were 731,000 Canadians holding field or office construction jobs in October compared to 709,000 a year earlier.
The year-over-year increase was the first since March 1995.
