Colorado Springs-based Summit Container Corporation, whose president was recently named Small Business Person of the Year by the Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce, will relocate and open a large manufacturing plant in Monument within the next few months. The plant will manufacture corrugated materials used in packaging.
The relocation will consolidate the two current locations in Colorado Springs, and accomodate new contracts.
The company, which specializes in the custom manufacturing of corrugated and foam packaging products, counts Coors Brewing Company, Eastman Kodak Company, U S West Communications, Lucent Technologies, and Loral Command and Control Systems as the staple of its client base.
Summit reported sales nearing $3.5 million in 1996, and employed 16 full- and part-time employees.
