Echelon's new learning log
AN electronic learning log for recording and storing personal development plans (PDP) is now accessible free of charge. The system, designed by Echelon Learning, allows individuals to set up their PDP on-line via www.learningmatters.com. The system automatically records learning downloaded from www.learningmatters.com, an online resource of 2000 bite-size business and soft skill solutions, and enables the user to record it under the appropriate PDP heading.
It also enables users to import other learning they have experienced and file and date it appropriately. Echelon director David Hill said: "Our electronic PDP offers users an up to date summary of their development immediately to hand for showing to current or future employers or academic institutions for example. Eedo expands learning
EEDO Knowledgeware, an organisation that helps businesses transform knowledge into productivity, has launched Eedo KnowledgeSync, a dynamic application for personal computers that provides a rich offline or low bandwidth learning experience equivalent in quality to using a broadband, web based platform. Thanks to Eedo KnowledgeSync, offline users can access high quality learning content, documents, and knowledge sharing capabilities from any location.
Eedo KnowledgeSync ensures learning content remains current and user data is automatically uploaded and synchronised. The software is "self-aware" so content updates, modifications and tracking data is reconciled, and the central database and any remote locations and users remain concurrent.

Unlocking redundant IT equipment
NEXPRESS, one of Europe's leading suppliers of re-manufactured IT products, launches a new IT Asset Disposal Service for businesses needing to clear surplus computer equipment. The service ensures companies maximise their return on any redundant IT assets that have commercial value.
Andy Sayers, sales manager at Nexpress explains: "With less than seven months to go before the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) legislation becomes law, Nexpress has launched a UK recycling programme for business customers. "When organisations upgrade or replace their IT infrastructure they frequently store away old equipment, not realising its potential value, " he explains. "With our new service they can realise this value, through the resale of marketable assets. "
