MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN TRAFFIC SIGNAL OPERATIONS
I had the pleasure of attending the Joint Canadian District and QUAD Section Meeting this past month in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The theme, "Bridging the Gap," focused on bridging the knowledge gap between provinces, other countries, disciplines and the general public. It is apparent that ITE plays a big role in moving science and technology research into applications and everyday practice. The technical program at the conference covered a variety of topics, and many of the sessions were dedicated to traffic signal operations.
Following the conference, a one-day workshop was held on the third edition of the Canadian Capacity Guide for Signalized Intersections. This document is a comprehensive guide to intersection planning and analysis. The workshop provided participants with a detailed understanding of how to accurately model operations at signalized intersections.
