In the Spirit of Crazy Horse was broadcast in December 1990 on the centennial of the Wounded Knee massacre. Written and narrated by Milo Yellow Hair, a traditional Lakota from the Pine Ridge Sioux reservation in South Dakota, it is a lucid history of one chapter of United States-Indian relations. Yellow Hair relates Lakota oral history, a narrative in which he is both participant and storyteller.
