Mesa, meet Hollywood.
With the merger of Viastar Holdings and Level X Media into what soon will become Viastar Corp., a Hollywoodstyle studio with a hand in music, film, television, publishing and distribution is coming to fruition in Mesa.
That's right. Mesa.
John Aquilino, president of Viastar and former president and chief executive of Level X, teamed with Blacktop Films President Matthew Earl Jones a few months ago with plans to take Level X public. But after meeting with Viastar officials, he realized a merger with Viastar was the way to go.
Viastar already is listed as an over-the-counter penny stock, but after a few more mergers in the coming months, plans are to list Viastar on the American Stock Exchange, according to Viastar Corp. Chief Executive Gennaro Buonocore, formerly Viastar Holdings chairman.
For Viastar, its vision is to reinvent the studio system in
Arizona - a right-to-work state with more than a few cost benefits compared to California.
"Our goal is to recreate a studio system outside of Hollywood with everything under one roof, and that's what we've done by bringing the two together," Aquilino said. "We can create, develop, produce and place products in front of customers."
