Carolyn Andrews has worked for American Express in Phoenix since 1972, and she credits the company's valuing of her work for her longevity and happiness with the financial services firm.

She also credits American Express' sabbatical program for veteran employees that allows for them to take off work part time for community work. Andrews said she took advantage of that program, and it allowed her to be "refreshed and energized."
