Decca Commercial Builders has begun tenant improvements to turn an old movie theater into a charter school.
This is Decca's fourth project for The Leona Group Arizona LLC, a charter school company that has 12 high schools and two middle schools in Arizona.
"They're really good people to build for," saidMichael Wareing, vice president of Decca. "They're very conscientious -about a quality facility for their kids."
Decca is gutting out the old SuperSaver Cinema that closed about a year ago at 35th and Glendale avenues in Phoenix. Plans call for turning the 8-screen theater into 14 classrooms and an auditorium by May.
