ÖZET

Amaç: Bu çalismada Bakirköy Prof. Dr. Mazhar Osman Ruh Sagligi ve Sinir Hastali klari Egitim ve Arastirma Hastanesi Hemsirelik Hizmetleri Personelinin "Psikiyatri Hemsireliginde Sertifika Uygulamasi" hakkindaki görüs ve beklentilerinin arastirilmasi amaçlanmistir. Arastirmadan çikan sonuçlarin, sertifika programina isik tutmasi açisindan önemli olacagi düsünülmüstür.

Yöntem: Arastirma, Nisan 2008 tarihinde Bakirköy Prof. Dr. Mazhar Osman Ruh Sagligi ve Sinir Hastaliklari Egitim ve Arastirma Hastanesi'nde, 312 hemsirelik hizmetleri personeli ile gerçeklestirilmistir.

Bulgular: Çalismadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre; yas ortalamasi 33,96±8,69 olan hemsirelik personelinin %39.4'ünün akut psikiyatri kliniklerinde çalistiklari ve %60.0'inin psikiyatri birimlerinde 10 yildan daha az süredir çalistiklari bulunmustur. Arastirmaya katilanlarin %95'i sertifikanin bir gereklilik olduguna inandiklari ve %81.1'inin sertifikanin Saglik Bakanligi tarafindan verilmesini istedikleri belirlenmistir. Meslekte çalisma süresi arttikça, bir defaya mahsus sinavsiz ve programa katilmadan sertifika verilmesini isteyenlerin arttigi gözlenmistir.

Sonuç: Sonuç olarak, psikiyatride çalisan hemsirelerin "Psikiyatri Hemsireliginde Sertifika Uygulamasi" konusuna çok olumlu yaklastiklari ve gerek bireysel, gerekse mesleki olarak önemli faydalar saglayacagini düsündükleri görülmüstür. (Nöropsikiyatri Arsivi 2009; 46: 182-6)

ABSTRACT

Objective: This study was planned to investigate the views and expectations of nursing service staff about "Implementation of the Certificate in Psychiatric Nursing" in Bakirköy Prof. Dr. Mazhar Osman Research and Training Hospital for Psychiatric and Neurological Diseases and to use these results to elucidate the certificate program.

Method: This study was conducted with the participation of 312 nursing services staff in Bakirköy Prof. Dr. Mazhar Osman Research and Training Hospital for Psychiatric and Neurological Diseases in April 2008.

Results: The mean age of all nursing personnel was 33.96±8.69. Thirty-nine percent of the nursing personnel were working in acute psychiatry clinics, while 60% of them were working in psychiatry clinics for less than 10 years. Ninety-five percent of the staff participating in the study were found to believe in the necessity of the certificate and it was found that 81.1% of them wanted the certificate to be given by the Ministry of Health. As the duration of employment increases, a rise was observed in the number of nurses who wanted to be given a certificate without any exam and program attendance.
