TREASURY BUYERS GUIDE
Recent improvements have made treasury management applications, including treasury workstations and treasury management modules of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, more user-friendly and affordable. In fact, today most systems from different vendors can interface and speak to one another. The cost of a treasury system generally ranges from $20,000-$1 million, and some modules can connect thousands of accounts via the Internet.
A recent discussion on the AFP Treasury and Cash Management Discussion List found that some of the most popular treasury systems are: SAP, SunGard ICMS, SunGard Quantum, SunGard ResIQ2, XRT-CERG, XRT GlobeS, Selkirk's TMAN modules, and PeopleSofts products. However, there are dozens of additional vendors.
According to AFP members that participated in the discussion, for large companies with total revenue over $10 billion, SAP and XRT were the most popular vendors. For companies with $5 billion to $9 billion of revenue, SunGard and XRT were most common. Among smaller companies, with revenue of $4 billion or less, SunGard ICMS, SunGard ReslQ2 and Thomson Financial/Selkirk were most popular.
Many of the listings below are drawn from AFPs Directory of Service Providers, which offers a snapshot of several treasury workstation products and services offered by 19 major companies.
