THE Bhangra Superstars concert takes place at The SSE Arena, Wembley in London on April 21.
There will be five and a half hours of non-stop music, from the great legends to the new artists, lighting up the scene. Twenty one acts have already been confirmed for the major show being organised by music lovers including Raju Premi, who has gone from being in a legendary bhangra band to setting up online Punjabi music TV channel www.beatboxtv.com. Eastern Eye caught up with Raju to talk about music, his 30-year career and the mega-concert he is organising.
You have been involved in British music in various capacities in the past 30 years including being in legendary band Premi; but what has been the biggest highlight?
It has got to be recording a live session with John Peel for Radio One at the Abbey Road Studios. Also getting to do the Asian music for the big movie East Is East and attending the premiere...
