Abstract

A number of "what if simulations of hypothetical oil spills at the Casablanca oil platform (NW Mediterranean) have been carried out with the aim to optimise the local contingency plans and the allocation of pollution control resources. The oil platform is placed on shallow depths east of the Ebro delta, whose coastline and lagoonal systems are highly praised from the ecological point of view.
