Netrix Corp. will unveil switching products and technology next week to help frame-relay users with existing permanent virtual circuits get some of the benefits of switched virtual circuits.
At the Communications Networks Exhibition in Washington, Netrix will introduce its Switched Frame Transfer Mode (SFTM) technology, which will ultimately let users switch both voice and data over public or private frame-relay networks.
Netrix also will announce the 2210 Access Node, a switch with built-in SFTM technology. The switch, which is available now, can be used for data only, not voice traffic, said Christopher Nicoll, business development director at Netrix, Herndon, Va.
