HMO use of capitation as a reimbursement method for hospitals increased dramatically between July 1997 and July 1998, according to InterStudy Publications' new HMO Industry Report 9.1.
The new report showed that the percentage of HMOs using capitation to reimburse hospitals climbed to 32.5% in July 1998, compared to 19% in July 1997.
