A new cowboy just rode into town, shooting from the hip about advertising and brands, though few people know who he is.
The BRAND COWBOY is the handle of a Canadian ad exee behind a new blog at brandcowboy.blogspot.com.
Brands are no longer mere marketing tools. They have become a powerful, integral, even inseparable part of culture, Brand Cowboy told me (he called me; I didn't get his number). If not as important as magazines or movies, then at least as important as fashion. He wants to talk openly and honestly about brands. Problem is, he says, "Working in the business denies yon certain positions to talk about brands for what they really are."
