Atlanta-based John H. Harland Co. (JH), a financial transaction company, Aug. 29 announced that its checks.center Internet check ordering module has been designated a TruSecure Certified Enterprise by Reston, Virginia-based TruSecure Corp., a security assurance company. Harland's checks.center branch module allows financial institution personnel the convenience of placing check orders for their customers via the Internet. This certification enables Harland to assist its customers in their compliance with information security under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. To be certified under this program, Harland completed all phases of the TruSecure certification process, which address: the physical environment of Harland's critical devices, including all security features, power sources, ventilation and backup, connectivity devices, including routers, firewalls, modems and wiring, the computing devices and operating systems in use, and human factors, including Harland's security policies, management procedures and training.
