Rochester, N.H. -- Cabletron Systems Inc. signed an agreement with Computer Associates International Inc. that could make the management and monitoring of Cabletron's hubs and routers easier for the channel.
With the agreement, Cabletron's Spectrum network management platform now is interoperable with CA-Unicenter, a network and systems management platform from CA, based in Islandia, N.Y.
The two companies will develop integration software that allows the products to pass alarms and events to each other. Both products will be accessible through each company's console.
"Unicenter brings enormous strength in distributed management across a range of heterogeneous systems," said Yogesh Gupta, CA's senior vice president, product strategy.
