Zenith Data Systems expanded its presence in the notebook PC arena with the Z-Noteflex family that features five user-configurable components.
Based on Intel Corp.'s 3.3-V SL Enhanced 486 processors, the Z-Noteflex features local-bus technology and multimedia capabilities such as a 16-bit sound system with amplified stereo audio enhancement, and a bay for a self-contained CD-ROM.
User-configurable options include the microprocessor, LCD video, memory, hard drive and floppy drive. "We've redefined modularity with the Z-Noteflex," said David O'Connor, executive vice president of the Buffalo Grove company's worldwide product group.
