The CRN Test Center gave its Editors' Choice award to the SuperScan slice 751 from Hitachi (Nissei Sangyo America Ltd.) because it is a top-notch performer backed by a flexible channel program.
Resellers also should consider the Test Center's honorable mention, Hewlett-Packard's M900, a near clone of the Hitachi unit and a monitor that also provides a healthy margin.
The Hitachi monitor, built around an Hitachi CRT, offers a bright, sharp image spanning 18 inches diagonally. With a dot pitch of 0.26mm, the SuperScan Elite 751 can display a maximum resolution of 1,600 x 1,200 with a refresh rate of 75Hz.
Though the Hitachi unit did not necessarily score highest on all tests, subjectively speaking, it had the best-looking display overall, plus it had one of the best sets of on-screen display (OSD) controls among all monitors tested in this roundup.
