Web services firm helps Dubai establish e-government
When the Crown Prince of Dubai says he wants a fully functional e-government by 2001, developing the infrastructure for it is no small task.
But that is exactly what Edisonbased SeraNova is taking on. The Web services firm was selected by the governmentowned Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) to strengthen its customer and supplier relations through a comprehensive Web platform.
"A delegation of their key government IT professionals had just visited India, and our Hyderabad office happened to be one of the places they visited," says Ashok Tantry, associate director of sales at SeraNova. "They sat through our presentations and then invited us to come down and set up shop in Dubai," he says.
While many solution providers talk about the ability to deploy global Internet services, SeraNova's development facilities in India already have delivered concrete global Web sites for large enterprise utilities and communications firms, including Pacific Gas & Electric and New Zealand Telecom.
