AMID THE BUZZ ABOUT LINUX'S viability as a competitor to Windows, NBase-Xyplex this month introduced its first Linux router.
In addition to leveraging the routing protocols in Linux, the OSR8000 router features an 18-slot chassis, 40-Gbit-per-second switching matrix, and supports up to 26-million-packet-per-second throughput. It is slated to ship next quarter.
